Presto #3: Use musical examples

|

In 100 words or less, these posts offer quick, potentially magical, fixes – presto!

Use musical examples to complement to your on-stage speaking. Recorded audio or performed live, it doesn’t matter. Either can reinforce in sound whatever points you’re making in words. Examples must be fully integrated into the presentation though. Don’t allow technical or logistical details to disrupt a seamless and natural experience for your audience. In other words, ensure there are no awkward transitions and no lengthy pauses as you move from speech to music and back to speech. This will require preparation and practice in advance, but the result is on-stage speaking that is as polished and professional as your music.
